Marimba

The marimba is a musical instrument in the percussion family made up of hardwood bars hammered with mallets. Below each bar is a resonator pipe that amplifies specific harmonics of the sound. The marimba has a lower range than the xylophone. Aria Music Publications includes the marimba in many of its arrangements.
