Kemenche

Kemenche (Turkish: kemençe) or Lyra is a term used to describe a variety of strung, bowed musical instruments that originated in the Eastern Mediterranean. They’re common in Greece, Armenia, Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, as well as regions bordering the Black Sea. A kemenche has 1 to 4 strings and is held upright. Aria Music Publications incorporates the kemenche into several of its arrangements and offers the original transcription from the album Rif with all original compositions for the instrument.
