Banjo

The banjo is a stringed instrument with a thin membrane stretched over a frame or cavity to form a resonator. The modern banjo derives from instruments that have been recorded to be in use in North America and the Caribbean since the 17th century by enslaved people taken from West and Central Africa. Aria Music Publications includes the banjo in many of its arrangements.
